Andriy Shevchenko looks set to quit Chelsea and return to AC Milan at the end of the season following another season of struggle, according to EatSleepSport.

The Ukraine international has failed to live up to his £29.6million price tag since moving to London two years ago and hit a new low on Monday when he turned out for the reserves against Reading, while the rest of the squad prepared for the Olympiakos game.

The 31-year-old is a close friend of owner Roman Abramovich, but even he is ready to cut his losses and sell him back to Milan at the end of the season.

Shevchenko has only scored eight league goals for the Blues and will be remembered as the most expensive flop in Premiership history when he moves on.

The striker is believed to be looking for a three-year deal from Milan before he hangs up his boots.
