Work has begun in the west Ukrainian city of Lviv to lay the foundations for the construction of a stadium that will host matches at Euro 2012, a spokesperson for the city said on Friday, according to RIA Novosti.The stadium in Lviv will be located 12 km (7.5 miles) from the city centre, with seating for 33,400 fans.
Apart from Lviv, the other Ukrainian cities chosen to host matches in the tournament are the capital, Kyiv, Donetsk, and Dnepropetrovsk.
Ukraine is set to jointly host the 2012 European soccer championships with Poland.
