Representatives of several Chinese companies have visited Warsaw to discuss possible investments in the run-up to the EURO 2012 football championship to be jointly hosted by Poland and Ukraine, Katarzyna Meller, spokesperson for PL.2012, informed on Monday.

This was one of many meetings with foreign investors willing to put money into EURO 2012’ she added ‘We have already talked with businessmen from Turkey, Holland, Portugal and Spain. Today’s meeting was publicized because sports minister Drzewiecki participated in it’ Meller told the Polish Press Agency.

‘We would like the Chinese to carefully examine Poland’s expectations’ Meller underlined in view of the significant interes expressed by the Chinese, especially in investing in road infrastructure and sports stadiums.

Delegations of several leading companies including Anhui Foreign Economic Construction Ltd. and Shanghai Construction General Co. were briefed about the preparations for the football championships by representatives of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of the Economy, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Polish Airports and Polish Railways.
