No sooner had the Russian football season ended than the reshuffles began. FC Moscow coach Oleg Blokhin has left the club by mutual consent after just one season in charge.
Former manager of the Ukrainian national side Blokhin only managed to steer the team to a lowly ninth place in this year’s campaign – far worse than last year when they finished fourth under Leonid Slutsky.

Apart from disappointment in the league, the team also suffered an early exit from the UEFA Cup.
Meanwhile, FC Moscow`s president Igor Dmitriev says Blokhin’s departure was not just down to results but also money - the club has been forced to tighten its purse strings in light of the global downturn.
Amkar coach Miodrag Bozhovich is being tipped as Blokhin’s successor.
