An excellent all round team display from the champions while the visitors can also hold their heads high, according to Goal.com.

BARCELONA

Victor Valdes - 7: Was alert in the dying minutes to bravely thwart Milevsky but had little else to do.

Daniel Alves - 7.5: Played as a spare midfielder for most of the game, got down the right flank regularly and produced some brilliant crosses.

Gerard Pique - 7: A commanding physical presence and a comfortable second half at the back although he and Puyol were found wanting as Kiev found openings in the first half.

Carles Puyol - 7: As reliable as ever at the back and gradually got to grips with the Kiev attack to cut out their initial threat.

Eric Abidal - 7.5: Made some fine challenges and interceptions and was the busies and best of the Barca back four defensively. A fine performance.

Seydou Keita - 7: Got forward whenever he could but was happy to sit and let Xavi dictate the play from midfield.

Xavi -8: Another masterclass in midfield play. He controlled the tempo of the game with ease. Settled Barca in possession after Kiev made a bright start.

Yaya Toure - 6.5: Solid as always in the tackle but wasn`t much of an influence in the middle as Barca dominated possession.

Lionel Messi - 8.5: Always a threat, always looking to be in possession. Frustrated by the level of attention he received at times but produced another fantastic performance which is now just standard him. The goal was typical of his magic.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 8.5: Shaded Messi in the first half with some excellent movement and showed some great skill and vision in possession. Faded in the second half but deserved a goal.

Andres Iniesta - 7: Was doing well until he was replaced at the break and produced a marvellous pass for Messi`s goal. Hopefully his substitution was precautionary after a long lay-off.

Substitutes:

Pedro - 7.5: Showed great confidence and composure to score and was lively throughout the second half. Displayed neat footwork to fashion a late Jeffren effort.

Busquets - 6: Almost gifted Milevsky with a goal but did little else wrong.

Jeffren - N/A

DYNAMO KIEV

Oleksander Shovkovski - 7.5: Produced a memorable display to keep his side in the game. Might have done better for Messi`s opener but did really well overall.

Roman Eremenko - 6: Didn`t do much wrong down the right but was guilty of standing off the Barca attackers, made a great last-ditch tackle to thwart Messi early on.

Yevhen Khacheridi - 7: Arguably Dynamo`s best defender on the evening. Put in a valiant shift but could not stop the Blaugrana from picking up all three points.

Leandro Almeida - 6.5: Had a good second half, making some last ditch challenges but found Ibra and Messi difficult to cope with. Booked for a challenge on the Argentinian.

Gerson Magrao - 6:Also booked for fouling Messi, was run ragged at times by Barca`s blinding forward movement

Oleg Gusev - 6: Worked hard throughout but struggled to cope against Barca`s class in the final third.

Ayila Yussuf - 6: Fashioned some decent breaks in the first half but was replaced at the break

Ognjen Vukojevic - 6.5: The liveliest of Kiev`s midfield. Showed great energy but needed to be more decisive in the attacking third.

Andriy Yermelenko - 6: Did well first half and gave the Barca backline plenty to think about but saw little action in the second half.

Andriy Shevchenko - 7: Unlucky with a second half offside decision, was sharp and looked a threat whenever Kiev were in possession.

Artem Milevsky - 7: Competed well in the air against the Barca central pairing and could have scored but for Valdes` bravery.

Substitutes:

Tiberiu Ghioane - 6: Had some great touches when Kiev had possession but otherwise chased shadows in midfield.
