Andriy Shevchenko has been urged to return home to the Ukraine by Dinamo Kiev president Ilhor Surkis who claims joining Chelsea was the "biggest mistake" of the striker`s career, according to Sporting Life.

The former AC Milan striker has struggled to hit top form since joining the Barclays Premiership champions at the start of the season and now Surkis is hoping his club can sign him in the summer summer.

He said: "I told him he wouldn`t play his best there because they don`t trust him.

"The coach has to trust him and stop nagging him. He`s not an ordinary player - he`s a player of the highest level.

"A change of team would give Andriy new impetus. Chelsea spent a huge amount on him and will try to recover their outlay. So he must struggle in London until the summer and then consider his position.

"I hope I`ll be able to agree with Andriy the terms by which he`ll return to Dynamo."
