President Victor Yushchenko on Thursday sent a letter to Russia’s Vladimir Putin to congratulate his country and especially the Black Sea resort of Sochi on being chosen by International Olympic Committee to host the 2014 Winter Olympics, according to the President`s press-office.
Yushchenko wished Putin and the Russian people much success in preparing for the Olympics, praising Russia’s bid and commending Russian athletes for their achievements.
