“100 days before the EURO” falls on 29 February. Host cities are preparing to celebrate this event. It will be interesting and somewhat unusual. And not only on the last day of winter. We offer programs of celebration in Kyiv, Donetsk, Lviv and Kharkiv for your attention.

Kyiv will pave a bridge to Poland

In the capital the “100 days before the EURO” will be celebrated while working – they will hold a teleconference between partners in EURO 2012 Ukraine and Poland with the participation of top managers of the championship, and also will present media partners of the capital.

On Monday, 27 February the teleconference “Warsaw - Kyiv. 100 days before EURO 2012” will be held in the Hall of Champions at the Olympic National Sports Complex.

As part of the event they will discuss the level of preparation of Poland and Ukraine for the European Championship and the possibility of enhancing cooperation for the Championship between the host countries. The following will take part in the teleconference:

 - in Kyiv – Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov, EURO 2012 tournament director Martin Cullen, EURO 2012 tournament director in Ukraine Markiyan Lubkivskyi;

 - in Warsaw – Minister of Sports and Tourism of Poland Joanna Mucha, director of government association PL.2012 Marcin Herra and the EURO 2012 tournament director in Poland Adam Olkowicz.

On 29 February the host city of Kyiv will name its media partners. The official presentation will be held at a press conference in the capital in which the leaders of Kyiv City State Administration will take part. During the event officials will also report on the state of preparations for the Championship and will discuss the major tasks for the time remaining before the Championship.

Donetsk’s invitation for pancakes, cake and gifts

Shcherbakov Culture Park invites residents of Donetsk and its guests to celebrate the date of “100 Days before EURO” on 26 February. It will be combined with the holiday of Maslenitsa, so Donetsk will have lots of fun on Sunday.

The mascots of the championship, Slawek and Slavko, will arrive to congratulate the residents, a treat of pancakes with different fillings and, for dessert, cake with the logo of the European Championship host city, lie ahead. The guests of the festival, who will show themselves in a variety of fun contests, will not go home empty-handed: the city government, local and official sponsors of UEFA prepared for souvenir gifts for them. The start is at 12:00.

Lviv: show on skis and football match on ice

The main events of 29 February will be held at Market Square in Lviv. The highlight of the celebration program will be a video mapping – projection of a 15-minute video on one of the houses.

The festival program will also include a skiing show and football game on ice. The organizers will hold a lottery which will involve the participation of 3D video mapping spectators. The winners will get prizes from a famous sports brand.

Kharkiv – flash mob and EURO arena tour

Kharkiv will celebrate this symbolic date with a flash mob on the main city square and quizzes for football fans.

On 29 February, a press conference will be held at the City Council, during which the heads of relevant directorates of Kharkiv City Council will report on progress and preparation issues. The holiday will be continued (at 15.00) by the “100 days before the EURO” event on Freedom Square. Volunteers will hold a themed flash mob, do some campaign work and also distribute leaflets and booklets with information about the Championship and the host city.
