Dynamo Kiev remain keen on bringing Chelsea striker Andriy Shevchenko back to his former club, according to Tribal Football.

Club president Igor Surkis has revealed he spent 90 minutes on the phone to Chelsea misfit Sheva trying to persuade him to sign on loan.

Surkis is furious Ukraine captain Sheva, 30, on £120,000 a week wages, has yet to get on the pitch this season.

He said: "Andriy is not getting into the team at Chelsea that`s a fact.

"Given the situation, I`d love to bring him back here for three months. I`d pay him the same wages.

"We`re in a situation where a striker who plays for the Ukraine national team is not getting any time on the pitch.

"Jose Mourinho needs to explain his position to Andriy. I don`t know why he isn`t playing him."
